About the Hotel Megatrends Project 2018

The Hotel Megatrends is an innovative project that took place at the Xenia 2018 trade show, covering an area of over 380 m2 and showcasing the latest trends in technology, interiors, architecture, construction, design, and sustainability –issues of direct relevance to every hotelier, tourist accommodation owner, architect, interior designer, designer, civil engineer or engineering firm– in 7 separate thematic sites. The Hotel Megatrends project was developed in four key areas with a purpose to become an innovation, education and inspiration hub for all Xenia visitors.

The main objective of the project was to generate ideas on how to renovate a conventional accommodation area, address issues such as the way design affects hotel operations as well as the way the hotel interacts with its customers and the local community, and how design can help hotels experiment and evolve together with the local community, while, at the same time, respond to the needs of the modern traveler.

The “live” experience part of the project included guided tours, speeches from major figures of the tourism industry, while providing a plethora of views that could have a significant impact on the future and the redesign of Greek tourism. It is worth mentioning that Fish Communications was responsible for the project management.
