1st International Hospitality Forum

Focused on innovation and the latest developments in the field of hospitality, the 1st International Hospitality Forum organized by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, was very successful.

The 1st International Hospitality Forum that took place on Saturday, 25 November 2017, has highlighted the latest developments in the field of hospitality, as well as international hotel trends. The Forum was organized by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels during the very first day of the Xenia trade show. Forum SA, Xenia’s organizing company, was a Gold Sponsor for the event.

In the packed C1 conference hall, George Tsakiris, Chairman of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels talked during his opening address about “the invasion of the sharing economy model in hospitality”. In this context, he noted that the prerequisite for the sector to win the toss is to educate and get familiar with the new requirements in tourism. “Assimilation, integration and better exploitation of the new technologies, a better approach, and management of our clients’ demands, better marketing strategies, as well as the formation of hospitality syndication schemes are some of the areas where we need to mobilize in order to succeed,” stated Mr Tsakiris.

An HCH initiative
The President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Mr. George Tsakiris, stated, regarding the organization of the Forum: “Rapid technological developments and the changing desires of travelers are drastically transforming the global tourism environment, influencing both the hotel product, as well as the way in which it is promoted and made available. These developments must be closely monitored by all Greek hotel businesses, if we want to cope with the increasing—fair and unfair—competition.

In this context, we took the initiative as HCH to organize the 1st International Hospitality Forum, which we hope will become a pioneering platform for knowledge and reflection, both for our members, as well as the entire tourism industry. We will have the pleasure of welcoming leading Greek and international speakers from the tourism sector, who will present all the latest trends and developments in the global hotel market.”
