Xenia, which took place on November 27-29 in covid-free conditions at the Metropolitan Expo, made an impressive restart with 17,000 visitors, confirming its important contribution to the restart of the Greek tourism.
Xenia 2021 took place with an impressive attendance and huge visiting and commercial success despite the difficulties of post covid era, proving the willingness of professionals to visit again the exhibition with physical presence. For three days, Xenia played a key role in strengthening greek Tourism, mobilizing and giving the necessary “tools” to hoteliers across the country. The most important platform for reaching trade agreements, brought together 350 exhibitors with 17,000 decision makers, giving the opportunity to achieve quality and profitable collaborations.

Through the top trade show for the greek tourism industry, a huge range of products emerged to upgrade the services and infrastructure for hotels and tourist accommodation and presented quality infrastructure with a low environmental footprint. Among other things, the new international tourism trends were analyzed, opening essentially new horizons in the Greek tourism product. Also, the construction industry shown in the exhibition, made a big impact, covering the needs of even the most demanding customers, with solutions for the construction, renovation and energy saving of hotels by industry leaders.
Hoteliers “voted” for Xenia
More than 17,000 decision makers from companies operating in the hospitality industry visited Xenia 2021, to find ideas, proposals, innovations, and solutions for their businesses. Owners and executives of hotels and rental accommodation, architects and decorators representing construction companies and thousands more professionals from catering, hotel equipment, food and beverage marketing as well as business consultants, had a dynamic presence in Xenia 2021. This success created an atmosphere of hope to the industry’s supply companies and marked with a positive sign the restart of the tourism season of 2022. The 17,000 visitors knew what they were looking for, which excited the exhibitors, who are satisfied after concluding substantial trade agreements.

Parallel events that “designed” the future of the industry
Hundreds of professionals from every corner of Greece visited the special events of Xenia, hosted by leading experts in the hotel industry. Specifically, the leading forum for digital developments in the hotel industry was held with great success at the stage of Digi Hotel. For 3 days, distinguished speakers, renowned executives and digital marketing experts presented through speeches and panels, the developments, trends and challenges in world Tourism in the post covid era and mapped the new dominant role of digital in the industry of hospitality as well as the countless, powerful tools it offers.

At the same time, the key role of the hotel infrastructure in the sustainable tourism development of an area and the important role of the construction sector, emerged through speeches and presentations by architects, representatives of construction companies and hoteliers within the Xenia Build Hotel. Also, the Greek Breakfast, a very important initiative of the Greek Chamber of Hotels, was hosted for the 2nd time at the Xenia 2021 exhibition and impressed visitors and exhibitors. The hoteliers who visited the Greek Breakfast stand, had the opportunity to take part in a special gastronomic trip to the winter and summer destinations of the country, through a rich program of culinary activities and proposals presented by the consultant chef of the Greek Breakfast, Mr. Stratos Iosifellis and chef Mrs. Elpida Charalambidou.
The 5th International Hospitality Forum was held successfully and with many hoteliers on the 1st day of the exhibition. The trends that will determine the next day of tourism and hospitality, in the post-Covid era in Greece and worldwide, were presented at the international forum organized by the Greek Chamber of Hotels, with the support of Phocuswright, the world leader in primary research for the hospitality industry.
